Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by the idea of making money online. I started off by selling odds and ends on Ebay, moved on to selling designer jeans, phone accessories, etc. In high school, I skipped school and slept outside a Best Buy to get PlayStation 3s to re-sell online.
I’ve since tried Print-on-Demand with t-shirts on sites like Redbubble and Shopify, I’ve been a seller on Fiverr, I’ve even bought and sold vacant land.
In 2017, I launched the photography and filmmaking YouTube channel Mango Street with my wife Rachel. We turned that into our full-time jobs and hit over 500,000 subscribers in our first year. Now, with over 1 million subscribers on YouTube, I decided to go back to my roots – exploring different ways to make money online.
Most people in this space on YouTube have lots to sell you – courses, merch, affiliate links – you get the idea! However, for me, this is not my full-time job and I don’t need to convince you to buy whatever product I’m trying to sell you so I can pay my bills. I’ve got nothing to sell here.
Instead, I’m your human guinea pig of sorts, experimenting with different avenues to make money online and documenting the process on my YouTube channel. I share with you what works for me and what didn’t – regardless of the outcome.
After trying many different online businesses and supposed money-making side hustles, there’s only one thing that really stuck: day trading.
I bought lots of put options in March 2020 and turned $1500 into $62,000. The following winter, I averaged in to a Gamestop position before the squeeze gained momentum and made $100,000 profit.
While part of this was beginner’s luck, I was determined to learn how to become consistently profitable day trading. I now stream the first two hours of the New York market open every weekday on my Youtube channel, sharing what I learn along the way.
